Event Description:
July 20th 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11’s first landing on the moon. Where did we land and what did we learn? NASA’s Apollo program landed on the moon six times. Each landing was more daring and ambitious than the one before. Angelo Parisi will speak on the successful landing of Apollo 11 as well as the landings of Apollos 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17. What questions were scientists hoping to answer when they chose these landing sites? What did they find and how has this knowledge increased our understanding of the Moon, Earth and Solar System.
