Event Description: 

A transit of Mercury is a fairly rare event with just 14 happening this century!

Mercury will pass in front of the sun and cast a tiny shadow.  Weather permitting we will be out starting at 7 am to watch Mercury trek across the sun.  Come learn about and experience SAFE solar viewing techniques.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOOK AT THE SUN WITHOUT PROPER EQUIPMENT.  

We will also have FREE presentations in the Science Dome on planetary transits at 7 am, 8 am, 9 am and noon.  Reserve Seats – unreserved seats are first come first served.
