Lunar Legacy Lecture Series

Event Description: 

The18-month long Lunar Legacy Lecture Series celebrates the Apollo Moon Missions and northern Arizona’s critical role in these historic lunar landings. From analyzing impact craters to developing moon maps, testing space gear and developing science materials for spacesuits, researchers recount details of astronaut training past and present led by NASA and the local branch of the U.S. Geological Survey. Speakers include scientists from northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, W. L. Gore & Associates, Lowell Observatory, USGS and local historians. Each free 90-minute presentation occurs on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 - 7:30 p.m., at the Coconino Community College Lone Tree Campus in Flagstaff, Arizona.
