To Be Young, Gifted, & Black:  A Creativity Series

We are looking for writers to participate in our annual Women’s History Month essay contest.

Essay Theme:

Dear Mae Jemison:  “If I Were an Astronaut”

Starts:  Thursday, March 1, 2018

Ends:  Saturday, March 31, 2018

Essays must be received on or before Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Brainerd Branch.

Recommended for students in grades 3 - 8

Essay Rules and Guidelines:

Essay must be 200 words or less.
Writer must complete and attach the submission form.
Only one essay per student will be accepted.
One winner will be chosen from each grade level, (grades 3 - 8) for a total of six (6) winners.
All winners will receive a prize and recognition during the closing of the summer reading program   ceremony scheduled September 1st.
