Event Description: 

The NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center will host an Astronomy and Night Sky Summer Series at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge on Friday, July 13, 2018.

The series will feature an Astronomy 101 presentation at the Herbert H. Bateman Education Center Auditorium followed by night sky observations through telescopes and binoculars at the north end of parking lot #1.


The Summer Series is a collaboration between the Assateague Island National Seashore, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Delmarva Space Sciences Foundation, and the NASA Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center.  

The Astronomy 101 presentation will occur regardless of cloud cover, however, the telescope viewing at the beach is subject to cancellation due to inclement weather.

This series is free and open to the public, however park entrance fees still apply.
